inning in last night's Yankees C Twins game, I was alerted to Logan's Wikipedia entry by reader Tony. According to the internet, Boone was just a nickname that Logan earned in high school, after drinking so much Boone's malt liquor that he needed his stomach pumped. Screen grab and discussion after the jump.At first, I thought the fact that Logan's real name doesn't appear on MLB.com or ESPN.com was proof that this story was made up. Honestly, its too perfect a story to be real. However, the lack of a full name on professionally run websites isn't something that's unique.Take Boof Bonser for example. Boof's real name is John Paul Bonser as noted on hisWikipediapage. However, no official site Adidas Predator VIII C MLB, ESPN, Yahoo! C has his real name. Same for Covelli Loyce Coco Crisp. So now my problem isn't with the extra information on the Wikipedia page, but the lack of a real name. If someone was going to take the time to tell the heroic story of Boone Logan drinking

too much delicious, fruity malt beverage, wouldn't they also add his real name And based on the tone of the previous sentence C not to be confused with Sara Connor high school.Unfortunately, I'm going to call this fake. Especially since it was just added on October 5th. Unless a birth certificate surfaces this will become a suburban legend.Update: Looks like we can close the books on this mystery thanks to @TheRorasaur. Boone's given name is, in fact, Boone, according to BaseballReference. I find it sad that somecharlatanwould deface a Logan, but that's the world we live in. Doesn't make the story any less bro-riffic. Thrashers Goalie Ondrej Pavelec Collapses During The First Period of Season Opener Atlanta Thrashers' goalie Ondrej Pavelec lost consciousness and collapsed 2 minutes into the home opener last night. There was no collision or contact that led to the collapse. He was wheeled off the ice on a stretcher and eventually regained consciousness.
